2022 tax dates for IRS deadlines

Mark your calendar with these important tax dates for 2022.

January 18, 2022: For Individuals who need to make quarterly Estimated tax payment for 4th quarter 2021, file form 1040-ES

January 31, 2022: For Businesses, Annual information statements to recipients for payments you made during 2021, use a version of form 1099

February 15, 2022: For Businesses, file Annual information statements to recipients, payment reported on form 1099-B and 1099-S for tax year 2021

February 28, 2022: For Businesses, file information returns for certain payments made during the year 2021

March 15, 2022: Due date for calendar year return 2021 for partnership (form 1065), and S corporations (form 1120-S) 

March 31, 2022: For Businesses, Electronic filing of forms 1097, 1098, 1099, 3921, 3922, and W-2G

April 18, 2022: Individuals who need to make quarterly Estimated tax form 1040-ES, for first quarter 2022

April 18, 2022: Individuals file form 1040 for tax year 2021, and pay any tax due, or request an extension of time to file (form 4868) 

April 18, 2022: File Schedule H if you paid cash wages of $2300 or more in tax year 2021 to a household employee. 

April 18, 2022: Corporations file a calendar year (2021) income tax return form 1120, or file an extension form 7004. 

June 15, 2022: For Individuals who need to make quarterly Estimated tax payments form 1040-ES, this is for 2nd quarter 2022.  

September 15, 2022: For individuals who need to make quarterly Estimated tax payments for the 3rd quarter of 2022, form 1040-ES

October 17, 2022: If you have an automatic 6- month extension to file your Individual tax return for 2021, file form 1040 and pay any tax due.
